DAY # 1 – Trip to Tortola – TRANSPORT
HISTORY TO FOLLOW
That’s it, it’s the big day we get up early because we leave for the British Virgin Islands. Youppi !!! Arrival as planned at St. Thomas. We take a small » shooter » welcome (it’s free), we get our luggage and we will see the dispatcher for taxis (see photo). It is he who directs us to the right vehicle towards TORTOLA. Trust him it’s his job.
We share a taxi with 6-8 other people going in the same direction. He leads us to the ferry according to schedule. Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook. Today, I’m Red Hook because I arrived a little late. So I take the last ferry of the day and I call VSV to tell them that I am well embarked.
Do not forget the time difference in your calculations, there is 1 hour more here than in Quebec.
It is so beautiful and hot that I move to the 2nd floor of the ferry. It’s noisy but the noise of the engines reminds me that I arrive at destination.
Youppi! my wonderful colleagues VSV warmly welcome me and we have a drink at the » beach bar » before going to eat.
Tomorrow a beautiful day begins!
